"Don't cross a bridge, even a stone one, until you have tested it" (Korean proverb).
As mediation is a relatively new field there is as yet no regulation. Anyone can call themselves a "mediator". However, the Civil Mediation Council operates a pilot scheme for the accreditation of mediation providers, though it is presently voluntary.
To achieve CMC accreditation, mediation providers have to demonstrate that they have in place procedures for ensuring that their mediators are properly trained, accredited, insured, and keep up to date, and in addition they have to meet CMC requirements as to obtaining customer feedback and the availability of a complaints procedure. We are accredited by the CIvil Mediation Council.
